Re: 292-250 swap HELP

I think the pass. side engine tower needs to be moved back. The holes are already on the frame and the crossmember. If I remember right, the same tower can be used..

Re: 292-250 swap HELP

the passenger side on a 292 is different than the SB or the 230-250 6 cylinder mounts. you need to get one for a 6 cylinder non-292

Re: 292-250 swap HELP

On the 292's the passenger side motor mount is in the forward set of holes, while the drivers side is in the rear set of holes. The passenger side motor mount bracket is shorter than the drivers side. The 230/250's have both motor mounts in the rear location, the same as for a small block.

Re: 292-250 swap HELP

The rubber part of the motor mount is the same from '63-'72 for all small blocks and I6 engines, so yes they will work.

Re: 292-250 swap HELP

Thanks guys but still a little confused. i know i can use the same rubber motor mount becuase 230,250 are the same as the v8. Now what im understandins is that the pass side frame mount, bracket is shorter on the pass side of a 292. So i would need to change to a 250 or a v8one? How about the one on the block. Sorry about all the questions, just wanna have everything when i go to install tomorrow.
