Parts/Identification help needed!

My son and I are working on his truck, Nancy, and we're missing these air conditioning parts. Can someone tell me what their proper names are and where I can find them? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Parts/Identification help needed!

Picture #1 is commonly called a fresh or cold air door. LMC calls it an A/C shutoff valve in their catalog. Picture #2 is a vacuum actuator for said fresh air door. Both are in their catalog. What they don't show is the bracket for the actuator and the spring that runs from the "loop" on the fresh air door to a hole in the inner cowl. The spring is very hard to find. I saw all but the spring in a junkyard near me today.

Re: Parts/Identification help needed!

Thanks! - what we need are the parts that go from the actuator through the firewall to the fresh air door. Any help would be great.

Thanks again!

My time is free. Just trying to help out. It's just coincidental that I looked at these today. I don't know if this violates the rules. Perhaps clarification is in order. I also don't want to cross that line..

Cool Re: Parts/Identification help needed!

Here are some links for you. These are LMC truck links.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=120

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=47

I did away with my cowl vent and sealed it up and when the air is on I open the passenger side vent. My truck gets down below 40 on 85* days now. Best mod I ever did to the truck.

Check this thread also.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Parts/Identification help needed!

OK, Daddy'O, here's the deal that does not violate any of the rules. I got the door, linkage from the actuator to the door and the nylon "bushings" along with a deluxe amber marker for me at such an embarrassingly low price that all the parts you asked about are FREE to you. Just PM me your address and they are yours.

Hey Jim, this is Daddy'O's son Wyatt. We got your parts yesterday. I wanted to thank you for sending the parts to help fix my truck Nancy. I really appreciate it and I know Nancy does too. I will be sure to "pay it forward".

Thanks again,
Wyatt

No, we are still looking for the bracket that holds the vacuum actuator on the cowl. At least that's what dad is saying. Thanks again for your generosity. Oh, and I patted Nancy on her bumper. Lol.

I got that along with the actuator from the same truck. Wish I'd understood you needed it. Let me see if I can find a reasonable way to send it. You do have the actuator, right?

Re: Parts/Identification help needed!

Hey Jim –

No we don’t have the actuator either.

Wyatt’s truck was pretty well stripped of several AC parts as well as many other parts when we got her. We’ve been fortunate to find a few parts locally and from places like Classic Parts. We’ve been even more fortunate to find parts on this forum. Wyatt and I think it’s pretty cool his truck Nancy has donor parts from several states now.

We had the cowl panel off when we were installing and plumbing the windshield washer fluid nozzles and hose (some more parts that were missing) and decided to attempt to locate the fresh air cowl door and associated parts while we had access.

We are close to being ready to take his truck to our local shop to have the transmission rebuilt along with a few other items like having the front end aligned. Wyatt’s 16th birthday is just around the corner and had hoped to have her road worthy by then. But as with most projects your intended plans don’t always work out – which is OK as this teaches a very important aspect of life – patients. Of course Wyatt doesn’t really agree with me….at least right now. So, our new goal is to have Nancy drivable in time for a local car show event next month where we are planning to enter both of our trucks.

Let us pay the shipping this time Jim.

Thanks!

Re: Parts/Identification help needed!

Hey Jim, I did my quarter mile walk to the mailbox today, and I found a box from Wisconsin. Thank you so much for sending that part! My dad and I really appreciate it. We will be sure to "pay it forward". I cleaned them up and painted them today. I'll post some pictures of them when we install them on Nancy.

Thanks again,
Wyatt
