Rear Shock Mounting-Whats the diff?

I just installed a 40 gallon fuel tank between the rear frame rails. It fits great, but I realized both upper shock mounts are forward of the lower mounts. No big deal, but.....the 14BFF thats going in has the d/s upper mount rearward of the lower. I have noticed this staggered design on newer trucks.

Whats the difference and does it really matter?

Staggered will give you better traction and a tiny bit better handling it helps keep the axle centered some.

just be careful of mounting your shocks at too much of an angle as they become less efficient at worse angles like the shock inboarding kits where people run they're shocks at 45 degree angles
