Exhaust Fumes
I'm trying to find the source and may you guys can help me out. I put new headers, exhaust, mufflers... but for some reason I get exhaust fumes inside the cab. Is there something I should look for under the dash?? I dont see any holes in the firewall.

Re: Exhaust Fumes
perhaps there is a rust hole in the bottom of the cab the door seals are not tight? is the exhaust properly bolted on like are the headers set on a gasket and are the bolts tight enough?
also if all else fails is the exhaust dumping in a place where it will blow back into the cab?

Re: Exhaust Fumes
No rust...Exhaust is new and sealed. Headers are properly bolted and exhaust runs all the back to rear bumber. Doors are sealed too. It seams to come thru the vents.

Re: Exhaust Fumes
Just for kicks try putting the tailgate down and go for a drive. The factory pipes were out the side behind the rear tires.

Re: Exhaust Fumes
Think I found it... where the headers connect to the exhaust it had a gasket instead of the donut. Put in donuts on both sides nothing yet...
Thanks |
