Painting the frame
Im just starting to strip and prime my frame on my 60 C10. Does anyone have suggestions as to what worked best for you?

Re: Painting the frame
First I sprayed the frame down with oven cleaner then I powered wash and scrubbed with a course scrub pad. I found they work real good. Then I sand blaster the frame with portable blaster. The primer I used was the rustoluem rusty metal primer. It covered well and cheap ($8 a can at walmart). For paint I used Rustoluem semi gloss black. Same price as the primer and covers well. I hope this helps you decide.

Looking good barn find! Pending how much you want to spend, you could powder coat as well. Most major cities have some really good shops that specialize in this.

Re: Painting the frame
I am painting mine now. I am about half done. I used POR 15. I am really happy with it. This stuff hardens like a rock.

Re: Painting the frame
Thanks both look really great the only downside to POR 15 is that it's rather expensive and I was wondering how well the trem clad holds up?

Re: Painting the frame
The POR15 works well if the frame surface is clean. I stripped my frame largely because I did a lot of custom modifications and welding. I shot it with some left over Nason satin paint my friend had from painting someone else's frame.

Re: Painting the frame
Barnfind,
What kind of sprayer did you use to spray on the primer and paint? Did you thin it at all? Thanks, Steven
