She needs a little work But that's ok. Engine is a 305E, manual transmission, eaton rear end, rotted out wood bed . Last edited by PortalAxls; 05-18-2012 at 09:36 AM. Reason: Wrong model code hehe |

Cool project. Your door sills look as rough as mine do, and I'm not looking forward to fixing mine.

Welcome! Don't worry, most of that will buff out Wish mine happened to be a K20. Get that BB V6 going and give it a workout. They love it, trust me

Re: New guy here. First truck
I see your problem....
The air cleaner should be under the hood, not in the cab!!! JK, Welcome, and good luck.

Re: New guy here. First truck
Question time. I am right in assuming to leave installing the new door sills and rockers to the professional? I figured might as well since the truck came with new ones so all I have to pay for is labor.
I have a friend with a welder if it isn't too bad of a project. Getting it all lined up properly is what scares me haha. Second question: I am assuming I should replace all the body mounts before I get to alligning the fenders, hood etc? Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: New guy here. First truck
The answer to both is yes. I would start looking for a grill also, a good oem chrome one is going to be hard to find and repops are suspect at best.

Re: New guy here. First truck
Welcome to the board, awesome motor in that beast.
Ironically the last time I saw a big block V-6 was when I lived in Erie back in the late 80's. It was in a 66 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 panel truck.....freakin' monster that thing was! |

Re: New guy here. First truck
portalaxis, You didn't ask, but just for fun I decoded your vin.
K = 4WD M = V-6 2 = 3/4 ton 59= 127" wheelbase OV= cab and chassis P = Pontiac assy. plant C = 1967 1914 = build number B = GVW 6001# to 10000# The OV = cab and chassis means your truck did not have a bed on it from the factory. But you got one now so your good to go! This does not change the value of your truck. It's a awesome score!! Good luck with it and to the board. EDIT: Just noticed the 68 to 72 CHEVY tailgate.

Re: New guy here. First truck
Thanks guys! Thank you for helping me out with the VIN Bruceman
Seeing that it was ordered with no bed leads me to believe my hunch it was used for a fire department is right! Is there a specific 67 model year specific tailgate I will need to hunt down? My plans are to use this as a truck so she won't be done up all pretty. Plans are pretty much get rid of the rust and get her running. If anybody has a Eaton rear end in the Erie region or close to it let me know. Would love to replace the front 44 with something custom and beefier |

Re: New guy here. First truck
A GMC K20? That must be as rare as a Chevy K2500.

Re: New guy here. First truck
And this is the only thing you have to offer? Could you at least welcome the new guy before you start to criticize?
