Around here there is a ton of 4x4 trucks for sell but most are beat up and rusty tho.Guess it just depends where you live and how many was sold. Here in Kentucky you need a 4x4 in the winter time is probably why so many are here.

Re: Are k10 series trucks getting harder to find?
It makes sense that they are getting harder to find, especially in areas that use salt on the roads in the winter.
Every year they get a little older, and the cancer gets a little worse. Factor in that a lot of these trucks are used for work, and are approaching 30-40 years old. I think a lot of them are ending up in the boneyard once the engine, tranny, ect. go. Other than enthusiasts, I think once the body is too far gone, or there is major repair work involved, people are scrapping them or sending them to the wrecking yard. |

I'll keep my '77 going on until I can't turn a wrench or lift a qt of fluid to put in it.
I have my own lifetime warranty on my truck, if I am alive and can work on it, I will. |

Re: Are k10 series trucks getting harder to find?
In Maine the 2wd's were hard to find. They were rotted out and worked to death (and kept on life support for 10 years more.) Most of the 4x4's at some point had a plow, when they broke (transmission, transfer case) they got parked, to be fixed later. If it had a plow it would get used, sold....
My '73 the plow was for sale, the PO cut the price in half if I took the truck it was attached to. Otherwise it was going to get crushed. Most of the scrapyards up there crushed them immediately, most were interested in the "newer" models.

Re: Are k10 series trucks getting harder to find?
mines a 12 bolt not a 10 bolt. kinda odd for a 1978, anyway here in utah i do not see many 1973 to 1980 k10s at all. i see more c10s which are getting hard to find too, the salt must be killing them

I live in mass. and you don't see to many k10 unless they have come from other parts of the country. it doesnt take long for the salt to ruin them!!
