Windshield Question---Sizes---

I sold a customer of mine the other day a used sq. body windshield that had a chip in it for $30. Unsure of what year it came out of. He is putting in a 1982 chevy dually. He tells me the windshield i sold him was 1/2" short from top to bottom and won't fit in his truck.

I thought all squares were the same??? Am I wrong?? I think he's tryin to pull a fast one on me. I told him I would look into it.

they should be all the same. although quality control in the glass business isnt what it should be its possible to come across one that is small .a half inch is a lot.all squares are the same.i want to see that one for myself

They are all the same. Someone who is not used to putting the glass in will swear it is to small when they start and to big before they're done.

He's using a new windshield rubber too. He told me he payed a guy $65 to put a $30 chipped glass in>? I think he's goofy and trying to get a free winshield.

Re: Windshield Question---Sizes---

as a teen i worked in a glass shop and all squares used the same glass in the windshield. one issue we ran into was some gaskets were running to big ( this was 18 to 20 years ago though) its funny i remembered the ppg number for the c10 and the square f series trucks now i am drawing a blank. oh well if you dont use something you lose it.

So it sounds like it fit...if he had to pay someone $65 cause he couldn't figure it out, that's on him.

Doesn't he know he could've gone to HF and got a glass stretcher
