C4 Wheel and Tire Options

I'm going to be following in the footsteps/tracks of some of the other members here who have done the vette C4 suspension conversions.

I'm needing to settle on a wheel and tire selection. I'm planning to go as wide as possible with out tubbing the bed, and sticking to a 17 inch wheel, but as we all know, plans change.

If you're running C4 gear, what size and offset did you end up with?

Semi-related: Those white-wall rims on will.i.am's "vette.i.am" are very cool looking.

Some pictures (scroll down a bit)

Re: C4 Wheel and Tire Options

I used some 1997 C5 wheels but had to run some bolt on spacers to get the offset right. On the other hand, ordering aftermarket wheels would have cost me about $1000 more so I am happy with them.

I like the looks of a 5 spoke. How wide are they in the back? -- And I'm digging the orange. :-)

Re: C4 Wheel and Tire Options

Thanks for the compliment on color. I'm about half color blind so I like bright stuff.

Your standard C5 wheels are 17x8 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear. There are the wide spoke and often cheap 97-99 wheels like I have and the 2000-04 thin spoke wheels. The ZO6 wheels are wider but I don't know much about them. The 275/40R18 in the rear doesn't really clear without some work. I have 2" mini tubs in the bed to get them in. Before I did that I only had about 1/8" clearance on both sides.
