70 K10 Custom Wheels?
So I jumped off the fence and bought a project truck. Nice truck if you don't mind watching the road under your feet. It's a driving project in so much as I need use it from time to time, moving stuff pulling a trailer etc. The wheels are plan Jane stock steel 15 inch in other words boring. I would like to put something custom on it without spending more money on the wheel than I did on the truck. It also seems that the 15in options on wheels and tires are getting limited. So what wheels from a more modern truck still fit the older trucks. I keep seeing ads that list the C10 4x4 and Toyota as the same but I'm not sure what years are direct bolt on or what Toyota models are the same bolt and backspace is there a fit guide anywhere?

Re: 70 K10 Custom Wheels?
Chevy makes better looking wheels than any Toyota wheels. All the later stuff sets in too far to look right. I'd go with good old 8 x 15 truck rallyes. Can't go wrong with those and they are 100% GM.

Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu and Chev 6 lug are all the same 6x5.5 pattern. 15's aren't that limited, and IMO look best on these trucks. 15's are also your cheapest bet for used wheels, around here you can get 15x8 6 lugs all day long for 100-150 a set.

Re: 70 K10 Custom Wheels?
i have to disagree that steelies are boring, but then again I am biased. Agree with special K, if steelies aren't your bag (and that's ok) then I'd swap on rallies.
Since it's a 4x4, recommend 8" variety - but I have to say that 15x8 steelies look sweet, especially on a 4x4 with a nice tall (not crazy tall.. or crazy wide) tire. Just a thought - maybe just go from 15x6 stockers to 15x8s and add a nice cap?? (Can you tell I love steelies??) Anyhoo - rallies a great option. While some may think they look ok, i am not sure I could stick a foreign truck wheel on my chevy. Just me. I almost have a problem putting newer chevy wheels on my chevy... But the ones I've seen that have done that - especially the 8 lug variety, they look really nice (I realize yours aren't 8 lug though, just an example). |

I wouldn't stick a stock Toyota/Nissan etc.. wheel on a Chevy either... I didn't even run those ugly things on the Toyotas and Nissans I've owned.
