Did anyone have this blue on their 327 from the factory?

Like the title says trying to find out if anyone had this color of blue on their 327 from the factory. The color guides I have seen say it came on Suburbans only in 66. I have a 66 C20 and am sure it was on from the factory thanks.

I can't give you an expert opinion, but I believe that the SBC's in the 60's pick ups were at least normally painted a blue/grey colour. Those are some lovely valve covers BTW! If they need a home...

Taking into consideration for different cameras, lighting, and monitors, that looks like the same color that was on '66 250 inline 6 engines. I had some color matched and have the code if you're looking to repaint it. If the whole thing looks as good as that cover though, I'd have a tough time covering it up with new paint!

My 65 C20 327 (original) has the same blue covers as yours.

Looks like a GM corporate blue, not a factory applied color. As mentioned in earlier threads, green was the color of the 327 and 292. Danbury Mint even painted their 327's correctly green in the high end die cast toys. This is not alpine green or detriot diesel green, it is very similar to "Ford Green" rattle can duplicolor engine paint.

Thanks and yes I know about the green and the grey but I found a engine color guide and it said that Suburbans may have come with the blue on them in 66 on the 327 only. The truck belonged to a family member who said the color on the valve cover is the original from the factory or at least new on the lot color that was on the engine when he bought it new. The motor has been repainted since and more closely matches the 250 blue I have seen on many of the 6's. The blue on the cover is darker and didn't come out like it looks in person as in the photo. I will have to try and take one in daylight. I am asking as I am wondering if the truck being a C20 may have been optioned with the 220 hp Suburban motor or if they were just out of green that day at the factory and painted it the blue. I have tried to find pics of an original Suburban from 66 to see if blue matches but pics are hard to find and all other blue motor pics of that era are either of the 6's or the green or gray color from 66 and 65. Thanks again. Here is the guide I refered to if you scroll down to 66 327's you will see the Suburban only blue listed.

I wasnt aware that the sub had a different engine color. I thought the only availible color was green in 66 for the V-8. Maybe we can get a sub owner on this board to comment.
