Voltage regulator help!

i have a 1963 chevy c10, i was going to work on the truck so i disconnected all of the cables and i finished painting all then i tried to put it back but i forgot how it was and now when i turn on the truck the "alternator" light comes on, doesnt go away any ideas??

The alternator light does come on when you turn on the key, are you saying that it doesn't go off after the engine starts? If that's the case then the alternator isn't charging.

Make sure you have the regulator and the alternator wired like the picture. The white wire from the regulator to the alternator is for the light. The brown wire on the regulator comes from the light to the regulator.

When you say cables do you mean all the wiring are just the battery cables. Did you disconnect the wiring under the dash or anything on the generator forward harness connector?

i disconnected all the wires on the voltage regulator and horn delay, didnt mess with anything on dash, but i will check tomorrow all the wiring
