What V8 options came in a 1966 C10?
Guys, I just got a new truck and I'm trying to figure if it's a 283, 307, or anything else...

there was the 283 and in 66 the 327 was optional

If it is original it is either a 283 or 327 as padresag noted. If there is a possibility it is not original and is a small block it could be anything from a 265 to a 400. The best way to tell is with the casting numbers on the drivers side rear of the block and also the code stamped on the passenger side of the block just in front of the head.

ours, we thought was the original 283, but it ended up being a 283 intake sitting on top of a 400sbc, which we are currently rebuilding and tossing back in the truck. Hopefully next weekend. lol

the stamped number on the pad front drivers side . if still there? that would tell you what engine and tranny
