Probably a Simple Question
I know this isn't a part for sale or wanted ad but I thought this was the best place for the question.
We have a 1972 C10 and every so often when I look for parts at the local parts store they ask if it is a VIN H or J. I'm not sure which since neither of these letters are in the VIN. Can someone explain what H and J mean? |

Re: Probably a Simple Question
i believe it's just the way their computers are set up - i.e. they (the computers) ask about vins for more years than our group when they look em up. pretty sure H and J are AD 47-55.1 trucks (not sure if this coding extended into the TF era). H is half ton, J is 3/4 or 1 ton (not as certain on the J...)
