ole dollar gets power steering

got the power steering on ole dollar and now it has a power steering leak at the pump, i guess old used parts do that some time, gear and hoses are good so far, i will try and find some better hoses at a later date ,they were off the same donor. got the cab mounts replaced, and it sure rides better, its hard to do by your self. so i took some pics of ole dollar leaking on the drive way, this is about a pint every 40 miles leak. got a new pump on the way from napa, be here in about a week, i also took a few pics on my sons 63 c-10, i will post them also.

Re: ole dollar gets power steering

I'm not sure where the power steering fluid is leaking from but im about to be in the same situation as you are. It looks like you might have regular bolts on the back of your PS pump. IF so your leak maybe coming from there, I noticed I didn't have any of the studs that are pictured below but are apparently essential to the PS pump ( so I hd to order a set).. I got this picture from JEGS look for "JEGS Power Steering Pump Stud & Nut Kit"

I know when I bought my PS pump it came with 3 rubber washer 2 for the studs pictured and one bigger one for the hose (i think)

But if you do have those studs pictured, haha Im not sure how to help
at least I hope I gave you an Idea or steered you in the right direction

Re: ole dollar gets power steering

ras c-10. the back of my pump has all the original can bolts that came with the pump. and the can is leaking at the can to pump oring. thanks for the place to get the studs and bolts in case i need them for my next pump, i knew it might have a leak when i put it on and decided i would try and see if it was any good ,
some times you lose and some times ya win. the hoses were bent for a v8 motor, but i will use them until i can find some better ones, even full of fluid is has a little noise, and i think it may have run out of fluid a few times before i got it. thanks for looking at ole dollar in progress .....
