Grrrrrr How hard is it to find a decent bench?!
I drove 45 miles one way this morning to go pick up a bench seat from someone on craigslist. I asked for pictures and it looked in good shape, but after I get to the guys place I find that the passenger side has a huge rip on the side, and several of the springs are broken. The guy took the picture from the driver side of the bench where none of that was visible, and then swore up in down that the seat was "practically brand new"..... I pointed these out to the guy, and not only did he not apologize for failing to mention it, he has the gal to tell me he should be asking more for it! 90 miles round trip, and I still don't have a bench. I've been looking for months now and I've yet to find a single decent bench
Ok, end rant. The search continues!

If you were closer you could have the one I have, granted it does need rebuilt but it might be what you need.

Re: Grrrrrr How hard is it to find a decent bench?!
Thanks Clyde. I'm pretty much expecting to have to do a recover on any seat I'd find, but hell I can't even come across one that doesn't look like its gone through a tornado. I don't even know how some of these seats get the structural damage that they do, it's unreal.

Re: Grrrrrr How hard is it to find a decent bench?!
I had a really nice recovered seat for sale for months and all I got was lowballs, which I could understand if I was asking 2.4 million for a truck seat, but I was only asking 175, née 200. I got offers of 50 bucks "because I would have to ship it" which I took to mean I should eat the shipping cost because of my bad luck to live in a state that wasn't the same as the buyer.
Not picking on you, I am just saying, there are two sides. If you are offering fair money and driving 90 miles round trip I would say you are doing your job. Posted via Mobile Device

Do you ever come out to the L.A. area? If so, I've got a deluxe seat that's in pretty decent shape I'll let go cheap.

Re: Grrrrrr How hard is it to find a decent bench?!
Not a week after this thread is posted, a killer deal on a great bench seat shows up right in his home town. What are the chances of that? Hope he's watching...
