Bed Bolt debockle

Im needing some help.... I've aquired parts and pieces to build a SWB for my 70 but i dont have any of the mounting bolts can anyone tell me what size and length i need to mount tje bed to my frame.. Any help woild be great

For a steel floor short fleet you need 3/8"x4" carriage bolts and you need 8 of them. Theres also some special top washers that have a offset hole.

I didn't like the look of the offset washers, so when I was putting my bed together, I just got the biggest bolt that would fit through the hole on the braces that connect to the frame and just mounted them directly to the frame without the wood being on.

The edges and the bolts in most of the metal strips hold the bed down to the cross braces. It didn't look like it hurt anything in terms of strength.

Steel floors have square holes punched in them that hold the carriage bolt from turning but a wood floor the square hole wouldn't be enough to hold them so the off set washer has the square hole in it and the boards are counter sunk in the bolt hole area so that with the washer off set, when you tighten them it tries to spin the washer in the counter sunk area and it can't turn.
