Post a pic here of the tins... Maybe I can start dabbling in them as well. I have a bunch of old jigs, dyes, and punches access to through my previous employer Architectural Glass and Metal.

Re: wtb speedwarning tin

No difference in the tins other than a brass pin installed that the s/w hooks up to inside and wiring harness to the buzzer outside the tin.

The brass pin is the only difference. Tins are identical otherwise.

Re: wtb speedwarning tin

I have an extra tin but have not made up my mind if I want sell it yet. I know we all look at ebay but you just do not come out and let everyone know what you find. I saw them 10 min. after they were both listed. If I decide to let go of the tin I will let you know. I know someone looking for a nice air pressure gauge do you by chance have one.

Re: wtb speedwarning tin

No trade. I was trying to help someone find a gauge. I have a tach s/w and a reg. s/w tin and am up in the air if I am going to part with either. If truth be known and people were not so keen on factory specs on these clusters you could just drill a hole and put a rubber grommet in there and marry the two wires together.

Re: wtb speedwarning tin

the tin also has an extra hole in the upper corner behind the speedometer where the cable attaches. i agree with pt, you can easily drill both this hole, and also drill another to connect the two wires

I wasn't thinking of that hole I guess because it's easy to drill out.

If I was using for myself that's exactly what I'd do with a grommet and wire...

I'm wanting to put together a show quality cluster with tach/vac/speedwarning with a perfect s/w speedo pt sold me and a perfect buzzer/harness from wes @ classic heartbeat with a tach that looks NOS...

You have to give duane some credit here. Jonathan was looking for hard to find parts and duane was nice enough to inform him of some. Its not like e-bay is a big secret. Granted, he could have PMd him, but if you were the seller wouldn't you want everyone to know? And keep in mind, both those dashes have been run on e-bay before and the reserve has not been met. Its not like you will score them for $20...

Re: wtb speedwarning tin

Eric we were both giving Duane a hard time about it more than really bieng serious. As for the s/w units on ebay I would be careful with the incomplete one, there are alot of red flags with the dash. 1972 circuit board, missing the brass ground strap, cable is toast, needle coloring is not uniform on all gauges. All of this leads me to think this is nothing but a transplanted s/w tin and head into another dash. I would be willing to bet that the s/w shaft gear that turns the white needle is also broke because the seller shows the other dash with the needle in two different spots but not on the parts dash and all you have to do to turn it is take a small flat head screwdriver and stick in there and turn it. Be careful if you are going to bid on this one. I sent the seller a message with some questions on this one right after he listed them and have not gotten a reply yet and do not expect to get one.

Re: wtb speedwarning tin

i have yet to buy a speedwarning off of ebay that has worked. either the needle does not adjust due to broken spur gears, or the buzzer is dead, or the speedo head is worn out, etc. i consider any dash bought off ebay a parts dash. sorry for the hijack jonathan...
