WTB - Nice restorable console parts

Pretty much what the title says. If you have console parts you want to part with, please post pics and prices. I will soon be purchasing a soda blaster and building restored consoles. Piece lots, trim rings, anything console related. What do you have? Thanks..

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

Yeah, just when you can. No big rush, just trying to build up some parts to restore and put some very nice consoles together. I thought I'd restore a few in verious colors to re-sell.

You of all people know what I'm doing. I'm going to buy a soda blaster and see what I can do. I have that tan one almost ready, dad has it now.

I thought I'd do a couple in different colors and see what happens.

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

I'll recommend you do a black one to show, but wait on the colors until you get a specific order. What ever colors you do, everyone will want a different color. Concentrate on restoring the grain pattern on repairs, so you don't end up with smooth flat spots. Good luck.

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

The biggest problem is finding good center sections and good trim rings.

I have about 20 trim rings I am going to have re-chromed once I find a good chrome shop that can do it reasonably...

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

I sell everything here for $35.00 plus shipping if your interested. Trim ring has all the tabs just a lil surface rust in one corner other than that its straight. Lid has some small pits and scratches around where the emblem went. The ashtray has some pitting but not too bad. The hinge is good except somebody drilled the holes out a lil bigger on one side.

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

mgkgmc- Would the rust on the trim ring polish out (SOS pad / scotchbrite) you think? The black spot on the console door by the emblem.. is that down into the black material or just the parchment color shipped off? If I blasted it down to the original material do you think it would blend out?

Thanks..

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

Ill try to clean up the chrome a little better with some scotchbright just to see if it will come out. The lid was painted over with black spray paint thats what you see but Ill clean it up a little more just to make sure it not to bad.

Re: WTB - Nice restorable console parts

Waking this one back up..

Anyone have some good console pieces they want to part with? Something that would clean up / not require a lot of repair and restorable stuff?

thanks.

fyi- scotchbrite and sos both will scratch. use a copper chore boy pad instead when cleaning chrome pieces.
