Fire Extinguisher
Any recommendations? For a good one. I suppose I'll mount it in the cab on the "pocket" behind the rear driver's door pillion post.
I'm getting closer to firing her up after a frame-off and a bunch of electrical and fuel mods. Since I'll likely be alone for the "show", I'd really like to have this safety "friend" with me. Couldn't hurt for the long-run, either. I'm pretty sure of my work. But you-know-what happens! Suggestions on make, model and mounting appreciated. I was looking on e-Slay and found this one for fifty bucks to go in my new, clean cab.

Mount it where it's easy to get to.

Re: Fire Extinguisher
I have an auto extinguisher from wal mart in mine sitting in the passenger corner. I carry one in every auto i own, and in the home. I was a volunteer firefighter for several years and have seen many cars etc. burn you have only a critical few seconds to save a car from the scrap heap nowhere near enough for help to arrive.

Re: Fire Extinguisher
I've never had one of these, but I like the look. They come in black also.

Re: Fire Extinguisher
i love having fire extinguishers
i find they are best when you can put your hands on them immediatly and start using them// tucked away and hidden seems to slow access to them , sometimes that delay is fatal

Re: Fire Extinguisher
Bought mine at harbor freight on sale. Great thing I did too. Started my burb drove it a few miles and I smell something. Passenger cOmpartment fills with smoke. I jump out try to pop the hood and it wont open. Pulled the latch again and POP it opens. Flames shooting out my carb. Ah the for extinguisher, one small squirt fire out. Was scary. Just happened last weekend. I have carried them in all my cars/trucks since I was 18. A cheap just in case.

Re: Fire Extinguisher
No matter where you decide to put your fire extinguisher, make sure you are using one that is intended to extinguish gasoline and oils.

Re: Fire Extinguisher
I put mine on the hump like BobbyK, only sideways parallel to the seat front. Convenient, but out of the way, and you can see the gauge and state of charge.

Re: Fire Extinguisher
Halon fire extinguishers were banned in the UK in 2002 as they are a CFC very harmful to the environment, only used by aircraft, in the channel tunnel and in few circumstances by the military and emergency services here. Shame as it was a good extinguishant (if thats a word!) I had one in my car for years.
