t56 clutch hose swap help
ok all, I am swapping a T56 into my truck and am missing the correct length of clutch hose from the master to the slave. I know the swap has been done but the search didnt turn up the answer.
I need an off the shelf at the parts store solution it seems like there is not one. thanks Dave

Re: t56 clutch hose swap help
is it an ls1 or lt1 sourced trans? if youre using the factory lt1 components on a 1pc rear main engine, the master/slave/hoses are one-piece and available from a dealer for like 225 bucks i think... dont quote me. if its ls1, i got nothin... lol. hope i helped even a little bit...

Re: t56 clutch hose swap help
Thanks for the reply it is an ls1 tranny. Yea I found I can buy the master cylinder and hose assembly from GM but I already had a master cylinder fit in mine. So I will probably end up buying that from them so I can get it running. I knew others had done the swap and didnt find what they used. I was in a bit of a time crunch trying to get it over the weekend so I can look a little more today.
I have a place local that makes hoses so I may check with them but I am guessing the fittings are special. I should have it going before the power tour...

Re: t56 clutch hose swap help
Speedway has an LS1 style hose with the required "quick disconnect" fitting. You'll also need a Tilton 7/8 master cylinder mounted to your firewall to actuate the hydraulic throwout bearing. Some fabrication will be required, but the result will be a smooth shifting setup than is leak free and reliable.
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/T56-Hy...nch,39869.html Thats just one example, a 30" length of hose. Speedway sells several lengths, search the site and measure an estimate of what you'd need. |

Re: t56 clutch hose swap help
What master are you using? I used an S10 master and S10 line. Both can be bought at the auto parts store for about 100 total

Re: t56 clutch hose swap help
Thanks for that, I am using an s10 master cylinder but they didnt seem to have the hose or it may have had to be ordered I dont remember. I ended up getting mine spliced and lengthened as I needed it last minitue. I got it completed and hit the road and made the last half of the power tour.

LOL, Dave I didn't recognize your avatar for some reason. I'm the guy with the primered C10. Glad you got it fixed!
I used Dorman p/n 628216 for the house
