Show me your reupholstered Bench Seat
I am looking for ideas for my bench seat, show me what you have done!
Original, customized, altered, added an arm rest, or center console? I will want to incorporate some cloth as I only drive in the summer, and have no AC. Lemme see what you have done!

Re: Show me your reupholstered Bench Seat
Nice, thanks. Did you do the shoulder belt mount yourself?

Re: Show me your reupholstered Bench Seat
I don’t have any decent pictures, but I installed the black velour and Naugahyde upholstery kit from Seatz Manufacturing on my original bench back around 1996. These are the best pictures I have:
http://www.seatzmfg.com/seatz/index.htm The version I picked looked like this rather fuzzy photo they have posted on their website. It included separate buttons that were installed after the upholstery was mounted on the frame: It fit perfectly and remains in immaculate condition, currently living in my son’s daily driver. The next time he comes over I’ll take a decent photo to show how nice it has held up all these years. I don’t have experience with other brands, but the Seatz upholstery kit was first class and made accurately with quality products. I would highly recommend Seatz upholstery if they make something you like.

These are original colors that came on a 1955 Chevy passenger car that I always liked.

Re: Show me your reupholstered Bench Seat
My original seat was poking me in the butt, so I set out to find something else on craigslist. It so happened that I found this nicely covered seat within a short drive of my home, and it was actually turquoise like my truck. It probably isn't what I would have done if I had it upholstered, but for $75, it works just swell for now.
Not really as pretty as, well, any of the other seats shown here, but hell, neither is my truck. |
