My latest bucket
Im new to this forum so I figured I'd stop in and show the start to my newest bucket project. It's a 1982 GMC short wide with a newer GMC Front clip. The first few pic's is how it looked when I picked it up. The rest is what I've done in the last two weeks. Hope you enjoy!!

Re: My latest bucket
A little bit about the truck itself. 1982 GMC short wide. It's a retired county truck. The guy I got it from put a big block 454 and a turbo 400 in it and it runs like a scalded dog! First thing I did when I brought it home was remove the bed and I did my own flip kit on the rear which brought it down about 5 1/2 inches. I found the full set of wheels and tires on Craigslist for $750.00. The wheels are 20x8.5 MB Old Schools and I think they look awesome! I wanted to do the front correctly so I called up the boys at BNS Suspension out of Anaheim, CA. and had them send me out a pair of 3" drop spindles and 2" drop springs. I also ordered all 4 shocks and shock relocation brackets for the rear. I plan on taking a couple of leafs out of the rear to get it down about another inch or so. I'm sure at that point I will have to do a C notch. My goal is a budget built and so far I have less then $2000.00 in the whole truck. I will post my progress on the build, but so far I think its coming along nicely! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for checking it out. Curtis.

Re: My latest bucket
I figured I'd post some pictures of the truck out of the garage. I spent this last week hunting down pieces and parts to put all of the emissions equipment back on the big block. After lowering the truck I realized I had about 3/4 of an inch between the headers and the ground and there is no way I can drive this thing with the long tubes on it. So after hitting every junkyard in the area I was able to find most of what I needed. I will post pictures as I get things done. Hope you enjoy the build!

I will be there, but the truck won't be.... That was the plan until the exhaust issue. Hopefully by the end of the month she will be road worthy. Maybe I'll see you there. |
