Question Colors and paint schemes need help.

I am trying to decide on paint schemes for my 72. I am going with Med. Green and white. It took forever just to make up my mind on color, so I need help with layout.

My truck was a short step with solid med. olive green. In the past it had two really good color change paint jobs on it, so I had to tear it all the way down to do new paint. This will be the fourth color this truck has been.

Now it's going to be a fleetside with the side trim and I can't decide on how to do the paint.

I like the white roof with the trim so that is done, but what about the sides. I was thinking of both upper and lower trim moldings with the white in between. That looks great with the med. green. (I saw one on Ebay last week that helped me make up my mind on color). What about just the lower trim with white on the bottom and on the roof? Was that even an option on a 72?

The only limits I have put on my project is it has to be original looking, with a factory color and paint scheme from 72. At this point I am over budget and have spent more money making the truck look old again than on custom stuff. So I want to stick to my goals.

All opinions, pictures, and comments are appreciated.

Is this the blue truck that you have in your Avatar? That color blue is hard to beat. I'd keep it before I'd paint it green. The green color might look good when it's first painted but after a while it will get old quick. My Cheyenne Super was originally and is still going to be blue with a white top. My truck has the upper and lower side trim but it doesn't have the white between the trim. I'm not sure if Chevy ever painted them with a white top and white below the lower trim.

Yep.. It's the truck in the avatar. It was going in for a quick repaint now it's in a thousand pieces. We all know how that goes.

There are pics in the link in my signature.

I'm sure the pearlesent white isn't original color...but it sure is nice!!! I like that a lot better than just picket fence white. I'm not much of a green fan, either, but that is a nice combination. I was going to do a Aqua Pearl, and Silver combo, but that pearl white has me rethinking my choice!! I seriously like that white....never thought of it...thanks for the pic!!

Never mind that is what I want. Case_bt made up my mind. That is what I'm going with. I like the Med. green and white. I have only seen a few of them total and it will be the only one in my town.

Case_bt could you e-mail me more pics of your truck for reference pics.

Thanks

Dion: Your color green was my first choice, but I was afraid I would limit my resale if I painted that color. I think it's cool, but since I will most likely sell it within a year I have to pick a color I think will sell quick.

Nice truck.

Thanks

Better stick with blue if you plan on selling it quick - LOL.
