I just got the fender to cab seal today for my 68. I have no clue how to install it. Does anyone have pictures on what it should look like installed? Thanks

unbolt your old shields, remove the staples holding the old seals to the metal attaching brackets, reinstall new dust shields on metal brackets with new brass staples supplied with the new dust shields. Re-install on truck.

I do not have any metal brackets.

here are my new fender seals.I got em from GMC Pauls.Took the old ones out and used them as a templete to put together the new ones.
The metal bracket is outlined in yellow.That is how you attach the seals to the firewall/cowl area.
I used a pair of needle nose to hold the new brass staples and I pounded the staples through the new gaskets with a hammer.Turned the gaskets over and hammered the otherside of the staples flat.Kinda redneck but it worked.Huh,don't pound too hard though,you might split the gaskets.

was this a option I never seen a set before, whats the primary purpose for theses

That pic was great thanks. I had to go out back and find those brackets, no rubber was on them though. I did not understand the whole stapel thing, so I just used rivits.

I have never seen those on a truck either but they were in the LMC book so i figured I needed them.

I'm just guessing here but I think it helps controll dust coming from the wheel wheels.Maybe wind noise?I dunno,all I know is mine were toast.:p

I was faced with the same problem on our BURB...There were no fender seals or mounting holes present when I took off the front clip...thanks to this Board I found out that not all models came with the fender seals..think maybe just the "CST" models...they seal out wind noise and dust and attach to the side of each cowl. They can be installed by placing the metal brackets so they fit to the cowl and then drill holes for mounting...hope this helps!
