Transmission Cover/Hump Problems 1972 4x4

I have a 1972 short box, step side 4x4 I've been restoring since last fall. The truck is a complete conglomeration of mismatched pieces and parts. The wheel base was originally a 4x4 long box that was shortened (figured that out after I took the cab off). The truck itself has (or had) a 2 wheel drive cab. The transmission hump was changed to a period correct 4 wheel high hump. My problem is I can't get a molded vinyl from LMC to fit correctly. It won't seem to fit around the hump and in the driver footwell/gas pedal area. So my question is, was the 2wd cab shaped differently other than the hump? Everyone I've talked to says no, only the hump. LMC says the carpet is correct for the 4x4 high hump. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Transmission Cover/Hump Problems 1972 4x4

I just had a guy send me a portion cut out of a 2wd truck to put in my 4wd cab. It fits directly over all off the molds etc perfectly. There are some very minor variations but for the most part a bolt in piece after I drill mounting holes. Only difference we could find was the 2wd "low" hump was not removable from the factory. Maybe yours was not installed in the correct spot..looks good to me though..
What is that cool looking shifter for to the left?

Re: Transmission Cover/Hump Problems 1972 4x4

That's just a Lokar floor mounted automatic. I went with an aftermarket stainless column set up for a floor mount. Thanks for the quick response. Really bummed that I can't find carpet/vinyl to fit this thing and frustrating to not know where I'm going wrong. Does anyone know of a "semi-fitted" two-piece option? I should've started a build thread for this thing. I attached what I started with, where we went and what I'm back to now.
