Advice on Rust repair/patch panels to buy

Can anyone advise me as to what patch panels I need to buy? From looking I need the outer spring pocket patch panel, but they also list an inner one but I am not sure where it goes. This area is so rusty I am not even sure what it originally looked like.

The second question is that could I basically cut off the parts that go between the kick panel vents and the cowl area? The bottoms are rusted off and I was thinking I would just cut them off, except for the fender mount and brace the fender mount with a couple triangles of metal. I have no problem eliminating that whole vent system in the truck, would rather put a set of kick panel speakers in that area.

Judging from the pics of your cab I would get the cab media blasted to see the extent of the damage. That way you can see the big picture of the whole cab.

What I see in the pic that you need is these panels.

Outer cowl

From looking at your pics it does not look like you need the complete panel and its damaged at the lower section. I would not buy this and just make my own for the area that needs to be replaced. But you must be the judge of your own skill level this panel is 69.00 at Brothers Trucks you may find it cheaper on ebay or some other source.

Thanks Kabwe.

The outer cowl was what I was thinking of just cutting off and bracing the fender mount. Think there will be an issue with that?

Check out this link. It should help you decide what you want to do. There's a link on replacing rear cab corners also. I watched these several time before I cut into my truck.
