Re: Chevy vs. GMC dash interchange ....

They should be the same John.
they both have to mate up to the inner A pillar, which are the same(chev and GMC)
And the windshields are the same.
I'm assuming your talking 60-63....also pretty sure the 64-66 is the same scenario

Re: Chevy vs. GMC dash interchange ....

LOL then you'd have a chevy John..!
When Muddpile was looking for dash ideas,I had suggested fabbing a double GMC hump instead of a chevy unit.
Since then i have thought that the 64-66 chevy guage panel is the perfect shape for the GMC bezel.
And the 64-66 chevy glovebox door would be a good fit if you had the same hump on the pass. side.
I'm not doing the double hump thing, but I am going to try the chevy guage panel.(not incl bezel and switches)
IMHO the early GMC guages are butt ugly.
It'd be alot of work, but I think it'd look cool

Re: Chevy vs. GMC dash interchange ....

LOL don't get me wrong guys, I love the chevy dash too(it's so "corvettesque").
For me doing a 63lbfssbw GMC to park next to my 63sbssbbw Chevy seems like the right thing to do.
Along with loving my Chevy,I also like the different approach that the GMC's took design-wise.....except the guages...all that space and thats what they thought was a good "fit"
I do realize that GMC,back in the day,was a bare bones, build it to get the work done kind of truck....it just looks like the design team stopped before the "work was done".
LOL just my 1.76cdn cents worth
