I am relocating the tank to under the bed and want to see where folks put their filler necks. I'e got a 64 short stepper and I don't want to do the in the bed Boat Filler Neck. Anybody have photos of other options such as fender mounts. Thanks.

Re: Filler Neck Locations:
A friend of mine has a 64 step just like mine.
He re-located his tank to under the bed and brought the filler neck out the side of the rear fender behind the back wheel. He picked up a gas cap door from a wrecking yard, cut it and welded it in place on his rear fender and it looks great. Sorry I don't have pictures of it to post. You can buy about any shape and style fuel door you want, his happens to be a small rectangular one. Being it is a STEPSIDE you don't have the options these guys with fleetsides have.

Re: Filler Neck Locations:
Put mine inside the bed with an electric door on the filler.
Works great and I don't have that marine filler sticking through the bed. regards

Re: Filler Neck Locations:
18. Same As stock. Only downside is ther sender is 0-90 ohm. Add a resistor or a pot and you can get it to work switch our stock gauge. It wont be linear, but from experience I know our gauges aren't the most accurate anyways

Re: Filler Neck Locations:
I, too, like the rear fill tank idea. my donor truck came with one although I don't know what the tank came out of (I'm not sure it was even GM). I've been looking for something else. Here's a good source to use to check out tank dimensions: for instance dimensions on the '69 camaro tank:

Re: Filler Neck Locations:
I should have asked for these ideas before getting the Blazer tank since I do like the rear filler tank idea. So I will be doing something out the side and mounting the filler on the fender.

I have my tank under the bed and my filler neck on the driver's side fender. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics.

Re: Filler Neck Locations:
Sorry McCoy, I'm not really sure. I got it from a buddy who had several he had collected from junk yards over the years. He thinks it may have come off of an older (late 80's or early 90's) Toyota Camry but he's not positive. It's smaller than the one I had originally planned to use off of a mid '80's Chevy fleetside, which was too wide for the top of the fender on my '64 step.
