Rear axle u-bolts
Is it okay to use coarse thread U-bolts on rear axles? I know original U-bolts were 3/4" NF, but I came across some 3/4" NC in stainless steel for the best price of all...FREE.

Re: Rear axle u-bolts
The factory u-bolts are near grade 8, stainless bolts are only around grade 3 so they are not near strong enough. Stainless is tough, not strong. two different things. Has to do with pull apart strength.
