Help me pick a wheel

I like both of these wheels, it's 50/50 to me. My longbed will get a set of drop spindles and new leaf springs in the rear. I'm thinking 18x9 front and rear as I still plan on towing my drag car with the truck.

American Racing Artillery

Or these- Moto Metal MO961 Red trim can be swapped with black trim

This is the truck

Re: Help me pick a wheel

I would go with the American Racing Artillery, it looks less like a "ricer" wheel than the Moto Metal wheel. That being said.....I also like the OG steelies and dog dish caps you have now! Just my 2-penny's. Joseph

Re: Help me pick a wheel

out of the two you posted i would go with the American Racing Artillery. the moto's i think would look better on a 4x4 instead of one lowered

Re: Help me pick a wheel

That truck would look awesome lowered on those steelies, but I like the 1st aftermarket out of the 2.

Re: Help me pick a wheel

The stockers are 16.5"- makes it really hard to find radial tires in different widths... I'm leaning towards the Artillery's

Re: Help me pick a wheel

I vote for keeping the stock steels, but if you need to hit the junkyards & find some 16s for more tire choices. Save the $ to use for entrance fee & race fuel.

Re: Help me pick a wheel

I also prefer the stock setup. As suggested, maybe find some 16" steelies?

But since you asked -- of those two aftermarket wheels, I like the Artillerys better.

Re: Help me pick a wheel

Check out Wheel Vintiques or Stockton Wheel. They can make you some 16" steelies using your centers so you can use your hubcaps! Will probably be ALOT cheaper than ARE's.

I pick the first one, and agree is looks less "import". Let me know if you need some pricing.

Re: Help me pick a wheel

Have you thought of rallys? Wheels are funny - they can look good in a picture and then when you see them on your truck they almost look gaudy. You would be making a huge change in the way the truck looks with those wheels. Make sure that's what you want.

Re: Help me pick a wheel

I was trying to decide how to put it, without sounding too harsh, but dan42 has really hit on what was in my mind. Somehow, there is a real disconnect between seeing the picture of your truck (a very nice truck, I might add) and envisioning your truck with the two aftermarket options you've presented. It seems to me the wheels are going to stand out, almost to the point of overpowering the nice looks of the truck.

Then again, I'm just not real big on some of the wheels I see these days. Like someone said, one of the wheels has such a "ricer" look to it. All said, if you were intent upon one of the two options you have shown, I would go with the Artillery!

Just another $.02 worth...
