Weird screws on 51
What are the oddly slotted bolts on the upper radiator support hood latch and the headlights called? They are almost oval slotted... I'll get a pic if you need one but I figure y'all know... Seems like the inner bed has em too...can you get tools for these?

Clutch head screws. You can get drivers for them if you look around. Most of the truck parts companies will have them.

Re: Weird screws on 51
Thanks so much! I saw them mentioned on here a couple of weeks ago... Then couldn't remember what they were called so my searches were not working

Re: Weird screws on 51
Thanks for the Napa tool numbers Braindamage, the screw drivers show up in the napaonline.com site when you put them in their search. Most stores would probably have to order them but it may save a road trip to a store that has them or at least save shipping costs.

Re: Weird screws on 51
I cut a slit right in the middle with cut off wheel after I soaked them rust penetrating oil and removed and toss into the garbage. If they won't come out, I heat them with gas or propane torch until glowing red then spray more oil they usually come out. Then do like I do, buy some philips head screws and use anti-seeze compound!

Re: Weird screws on 51
LMC truck has them in stainless - I bought a set of them and the driver from them as part of a larger order a while back - used them on the rear fenders and the hood striker plate-to-radiator support.
