New Parking Brake Using The Old Bar
I wanted an adjustable parking brake but wanted to use the original assembly. We made a bracket that we mounted to the original cable opening. We also made anadjusting bolt that fits into the silver cable connector. The rear differential is from a 1976 Camaro so we used the stock cable for a 1976 Camaro and cut it to length and made the cable end to replace the crimped on end. We used a grade 8 bolt the diameter of the original crimped on end, drilled a hole the diameter of the cable through the modified cut off bolt and welded the cable to the end of the bolt. Dressed up and painted and it looks like it was machine made.
