Wink 1972 GMC Sierra Grande 2500

Hey y'all my name is Truly and I'm just a girl fixin' up my beautiful green 72 GMC which has earned the name "Love Potion #9" because everyone loves this truck so much

I will post pictures very soon!

So far I have replaced the distributor, spark plugs, and shimmed the starter which helped quite a bit.

The main problem that still hasn't been solved is that giving it gas after it's been idleing for a while makes it wanna die. "Feathering" the gas pedal seems to work well but I'd like to solve the problem. Also the truck doesn't like to idle in drive very well.

I'm excited to be on this forum and to hear whats going on with you guys!
Talk to ya later!

-Truly

Sounds like your carb has a bad accelerator pump. What kind of carb is it?

Oh...and welcome to the forum.

Thanks! It's a 4 barrel Rochester, haven't messed with it yet, but that could definitely be it.

Also check the choke. Make sure it's not closing on you. Also check for vacuum leaks with Starting fluid around the base of carb and vacuum fittings.
