56 Chevy Pick up 3200 series long bed

Hi Folks,

my brother is building a 56 Chevy Pick up 3200 series long bed and he is actually making a complete tubular frame with modern Corvette drivetrains.

I am currently looking for OEM chassis reference for that truck and I'm especially interested to know the OEM front/rear wheel spacing.

What is the distance between front and rear wheels centers ?

Could any of you measure on his/her own truck or provide a link with some information ?

Many thanks in advance
Joan

edit:

Here is a drawing of the 3100 series and I would be happy to find the same for the 3200 series long bed:

Re: 56 Chevy Pick up 3200 series long bed

That is from the factory assembly manual. Lots of more good dimensional information in there including views from the top for frame, attachment points, wiring, caulking, and brake/air plumbing. I scanned the electrical diagram and scaled it up to a D size (24x35 inch) drawing. You will find a lot of the dimensions are from the fire wall back and forward and need interpolation to get front to back dimensions. Also look at the manual in my signature it has lots of overall frame information that does not use the firewall as a reference point.

You'll want to move the front axle cl forward 1" to center the wheel in the opening.

Re: 56 Chevy Pick up 3200 series long bed

Thanks for your answers.
I have found this drawing below but it specifies to the 3204 series (among others) and not the 3200.

What should the difference be between 3204 and 3200 (our pick up) ?
That drawing specifies the wheel base to be 123.25 on the 3204;
Do you think it will be the same on the 3200 ?

G&R's57GMC, do you mean that on the 3200 seires the front whell is 1 inch forward with reference to the 3100 seires ?

Thanks
