Starting problems
I have a problem, I'm putting my truck back together. My son tighten the battery cable end too much and broke it, easy fix I got a new one. The problem starts here, before it we starting but now the horn relay under the dash is humming and getting HOT. I double check the wiring and don't see anything wrong. If I unplug it, the horn relay, the motor will not do anything, but if I plug it back up, it acts like it wants to turn over but doesn't. Can anyone help or may know whats going on?
Thanks.

Re: Starting problems
Sounds like you have a floating ground. I'd check all of the grounds and be sure that they're electrically correct. What happens at night? Do your headlights glow dimly, or maybe one side works okay and the other doesn't?
Did the horn work correctly before the cable broke? What did you do with the pigtail on the new negative cable? Was there a place for it to go to before?

Re: Starting problems
Thanks, there no headlights in the truck. Just got the motor in and fired it up. Then we left it along for a week. I'll check to make sure the wires for the head light are not touching any where. You think if they are touching would cause it? Also I don't have the horn hooked up yet either. But it has cranked up and ran since we put the motor in. Could the horn relay have went bad?
