chevy front axle on ford unibody? 55-59

Hello, I was hoping one of you could help me out, or just confirm my guess.
I have a 61 ford f100 unibody that has been altered to 8lugs

With some help from this site already I found the rear to be an Eaton HO52. I just assumed the front was still a ford. Well I was cleaning the frame up and saw that my lower shock mounts on one side had been broken off and welded back up on top. when I went to find how to fix this I noticed the front axle was not a ford.

I found a casting number on the axle which is 3711410GM11
I traced this back to a 55-59 3/4 or 1 ton. Is that an accurate google search?

here are some photos of the rearend that I posted in the 4x4 section when I was first trying to figure out what I had. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=511699

Thanks
ps. where could I find new lower shock mounts for this and I wonder if I could use my stock ford upper mounts?
