Clean Texas Tailgate

It has a few dings and dents. The paint is flat and the only way to "see" some of them is to run your hand across the gate in that area. The top is straight, the bottom has a very slight bow, straight handle that operates with ease and there is no rust. The paint on the inside makes it look junky, but it is only the paint. A tailgate band would cover the worst two dings in the letter area. It's a nice clean gate, it just has a few small dents. $375 local pickup only. Thanks, Greg

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

I like the tailgate, but the price seems a bit steep. Do me a favor. Take a look at this thread...

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=521559

I'm not asking for something for free, but it seems like there's a lower price to be had. Nothing personal.

Thanks,

Kent

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Kent, that's an awesome price on a real nice gate, they don't come along like that very often. There is also one on here for sale at about the same price as mine. You can make me an offer if you like, all I can say is no, I figured shipping to be about $70. Greg

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Greg...

Thanks for not being offended by my post buddy. Okay, I did some checking on shipping. I figured if you wrap it in something and put it cardboard it will fit in a 52/2/30 space. The quote from Waco to Holton is $38. So maybe we can save a little on the shipping. Now comes the part where I tell you I want a good deal...I'm comfortable paying $300 shipped. As you said earlier, the worst that happens is you say no. Just understand I found a really straight bed in a barn for $100, so it pains me to pay three times that much for the gate!!! Also, I would need the hardware to come along for the ride. Thanks for your patience with me. Based on how good we made your football team look in Lawrence last year I would hope that would get me some good karma!!

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Kent, I've thought it over and being that this gate has some dings and dents, I'll accept $300 as long as the shipping doesn't excede $40. Do you have a preference for shipping? I usually do fedex or greyhound and greyhound is generally easier on stuff like this, but you have to pick it up. Greg

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Greg,

You tell me what works best in the shipping. I've not done the greyhound thing before. Do I need to be there right when it shows up?

Either way, thanks for working with me. I'm excited to get it. I'm out of town for a wedding. Can I pay pal u when I get home?

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Kent, I've done some checking, the gate itself measures 67". I have a box to put it in (78x12x22), Fedex quotes $118, and greyhound is $101 to Topeka. Even if I cut the box down, the cost is the same based on 65 lbs shipping weight. If I can get it in under 50lbs greyhound is still $89. Let me know what you want to do. Greg

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Greg,

I've tried to post this several times but having problems with my phone.

How does $350 shipped work? I have not done the greyhound thing before. Do I have to be there to meet the bus? If not then that's fine. I'm sure I can pick up in Topeka. What's your preference?

Re: Clean Texas Tailgate

Kent, greyhound generally calls to notify you when it arrives and you have a few days or so to come pick it up. I'm ok with $350 if you are. So, if you want to do this, we can work out payment, I'll get it boxed and ready to go. If there is any difference on the shipping after that, I'll refund it. I'm sending you a PM with my #. Greg
