Road trip
GCBURDIC and I headed out yesterday for Pigeon Forge, TN to the LMC Truck All Chevy Supernationals. We've been baking in the sun all day and now we've ducked into a TGIFridays for lunch.
Thought I'd share a few pics... The Burb and the Mistress (photo op on the I40 entrance ramp) Hotel parking lot. (LMC comped our room!) Posted via Mobile Device More pics to come! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Road trip to the All Chevy Supernationals
OK... you can just toss it in the NC forum then. I don't really want it in TN because we only know a couple of those guys. That's why I kept it in GD. No big deal.
So, we had a great time this weekend. I have a photobucket album with photos from the weekend and the broad range of cars. I am not going to take the time to post them all here. Here is a slideshow: http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/c...view=slideshow Here is the album: http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/c...upernationals/ We did have a little problem on the way home. While sitting in traffic I noticed the voltage meter on my dash was reading 10.5. (digital) Not good. So, I told Geoff we were gonna keep an eye out for Advance Auto. Well, 2 miles down the road, we wheeled it into one. Ironically the guy already had the cart outside testing some folks battery/alternator. We had to wait a while for him to test and then change out their battery, but finally we got assistance and the alternator wasnt charging. So... $144 later we were in alternator replacement mode... Geoff (gcburdic) even got in on the action when it became "reinstall" time... It sure looks good, why didn't this happen BEFORE the car show?!? But it wasn't long and we were back in motion. Some other cool shots: For anybody wondering, this IS a static drop.

Re: Road trip
Yep, thats me... I had to drag Geoff's mistress to Pigeon Forge so he could spend the weekend with her. I may have put more miles on her than he has.
I just wish my camper towed as nice as she does. I think the coefficient of drag is lower ... must be the lack of CHEVROLET letters on the hood. It was a GREAT time. I am definitely considering a trip to Shades of the Past now. And for all of you Carolina guys. You missed out. We had a little drinkin, a little chrome shinin', a lot of eatin', a little criminal activity witnessin', a little wrenchin', a whole lotta droolin' (at the cars, not the women-although...), a lot of sweatin' (and some sun burnin'), and a little strange encounterin' (we had drinks Saturday night with Dolly Parton's bus driver) Yeah, what are the odds of that.

Hey Geoff, did ya notice that nobody said "You had drinks with Dolly Parton's bus driver?!? Guess it wasn't that great of a story anyway. And as for the criminal activity, Geoff (the detective) spotted a motorcycle theft in progress. We pulled out the zoom lens, did some surveillance and took some pictures, AND we STILL aren't sure what was going on. But, at the end of the excitement, they pushed the motorcycle out of our hotel parking lot and into the Cracker Barrel parking lot next door. And yes, to our knowledge, (and thanks to the lack of interest from our hotel management) they got away with it. And if you were wondering YES, a motorcycle does fit in the trunk of a mid-2000's Crown Victoria.
