Hiw does the added weight of a Big Block affect ride height?
Title says it all. I have a 454, 700r4, 2.5" drop spindles, 3"' front drop springs, 185/70/15 front tires. My control arms drag on everything. No match for the bumps on the yellow lines. I can raise it another half inch by going to 215/75/15s but I'm thinking the big block is too much for the 3" drop coils. Other guys with 5.5" drops and small blocks seem to have I problems. Any thoughts? Anybody else out there with a bbc and a 5.5" drop?

Why are your tires so small?
Also.. What bracket did you use to hook up the TV cable for the tranny?\

IMO I wouldn't use any more than a 1" spring with 2.5" dropped spindles with a 26-28" tall tire. For me, the big block in my Suburban with stock spindles and springs gave enough drop. Bit then again I'm an old guy that likes to drive without worry of dragging my hard work on the pavement.

I have 2 1/2 drop spindel and 2" spring and a 28"-29' tall tire and the cab is not installed yet. I hope I don't have the problem that you have because I'm old too.

I currently have a 5.5 drop, with a BBC. If I am not careful my LCA's hit when I go over speed bumps, etc. I am running 215 70 tires up front. I had a truck with the same setup, with an SBC, and it did the same thing. The difference in the weight was insignificant.

120-140 pound difference, sbc to bbc.Less if you go with alum. heads vs iron heads.
