tonneau cover issues
hey guys, im having some age/integrity issues with my current tonneau cover. Its a "Custom Cover" made by Custom Form Manufacturing in Elkhart, In. I love the way the cover looks on the truck, its not a velcro or button type cover, but more of a push-lock style system around the edges. clean and simple. HOWEVER, in the last year, ive been having some what i think are age related issues with the cover, which basically add up to the back of the cover coming loose while going down the road and flapping in the wind, which then starts to pull the sides loose and becoming a sail. Anyway, instead of me trying to fix this myself and ruining the clean lines of the cover, i thought id ask around here and see what types of covers guys are going with that are NOT button or velcro style covers. i want to keep the clean lines and custom look. Heres a pic of the current cover i have, please let me now what other covers are on the market, and if you have links to company sites or places to buy and pics of the covers thatd be great. im willing to pay more of a clean cover, so if the cover is spendy, still post it up.
this is a couple decent pics i could get of it. Let me know what else is out there guys!

Craftec Inc. in Indiana. Here is mine, its a stepper but they have one for a fleet. Also, Multiple colors to choose from... even Red. They fit flush to the rails and pivot at the bulkhead. Real nice custom product I think. www.craftecinc.com

Re: tonneau cover issues
Not sure about the seal. Never taken it out in the rain lol. It does have a nice seal around the perimeter and they include an extra strip for areas that may leak when you find them.
The blob is not rubber, its an aluminum channel for the cover to pivot in. Posted via Mobile Device |

Mine has rails and is snap on. Years of weather are starting to show. The vinyl is cracking and falling off. Mostly on the last section that sees the most air vibration down the street. I have to have one that opens from the outside. My tailgate has a reverse handle kit and bowtie skin facing out. A friend has one of those on his 2009 truck. It looks nice. |
