Car d'Lane 2012

Here are a few pics of a couple trucks and a couple cars at the 2012 Car d'Lane show yesterday. There were a few more '60-'66 trucks in the cruise on Friday night, but I did not take my camera. It's a little difficult to get decent pics during the cruise anyway.

The bronze 63 was a nice driver. The red '65 was very nicely done. Lots of chrome and attention to detail.

Another of the red '65, and a couple of a somewhat rare Camaro, a '67 Z28. There were only 602 '67 Z28's produced. And also a very nice 425 hp Dual Quad 409 Impala.

Re: Car d'Lane 2012

And finally a pic of a cool car I have seen off and on for years driving, but have never gotten a pic before. This was built as a replica of a Corvette Nomad concept car built by GM in 1954. This one is powered by a LS1, but the hood was not open. According to the sheet in the window, the owner drives this car regularly, and has put 170,000 miles on it. It was very nicely built, but does show the miles a little.

Now that is cool.

My mom was over visiting and happened to glance over my shoulder as I scrolled over this pic and told me that I had to find her one of those for her B-day. When I told her it was likely a 1-of-a-kind she replied, "I never said I had cheap tastes" and went back to the living room. She has a great sense of humor, problem is, I'm not sure she was joking this time.

Re: Car d'Lane 2012

With the exception of the color, I was driving the twin sister to that 409 back in '62. That's the more desirable and better looking (IMO) BelAir hardtop (bubbletop if you will), not an Impala. Wish I had that one back.

here are a few I got: really liked the restoration of the 62 30 series, but wish he would have gone with a silver/fawn interior...

Re: Car d'Lane 2012

You had a good spot for the cruise Jon. This year we went to a different spot with some friends....way too may people there. Next year we'll be back down in front of Zips.

I didn't take any pics of the '62 C30 this year since I did last year. Although it looks like they did a few things since last year.

Re: Car d'Lane 2012

we got that spot at 4:45!! had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for it to start....
but it was a good spot,we were trying not to sit in front of a bar like we did last year, (although the drunk lady behind us was quite funny: she asked if a mustang and 2 different chevelles were a camaro, then when a camaro came by, she didn't even ask!) hopefully the kids will be more interested in a few years and we can watch longer.. we were done by 7:30.

Re: Car d'Lane 2012

Thanks for sharing some very nice photos. I’m always surprised when new trucks appear at local shows I’ve never seen before. I don’t remember seeing any of these trucks before. Love the Nomad show replica.
