my new ride
ok so before everyone freaks out because i am selling my 2003 duramax CCLB 4wd. times are tough not to sound like a sob story but i lost my job and am starting over career wise and my pay is now half what it was. so i gotta make scarfices somewhere to support my wife and kids so that truck had to go.
i now have this: 1989 K30 Dually 454/4-Speed/NP205/14 bolt/dana 60/4.10 gears/ Alcoa Wheels and mud tires 121000 miles. I traded some duramax performance parts and some cash for it. I needs a bed back bumper tail lights etc but other than that its ready to go. Only 2 questions 1 it is idling high any thoughts? and 2 Anyone in ohio with a flatbed or dually bed for it? thanks again Larry Last edited by N2TRUX; 06-19-2012 at 10:21 AM. |

Re: my new ride
Looks like a beast. As for the high idle, have you went over all vacuum hoses?

Re: my new ride
Not yet I literally pulled it off the trailer drove it around the yard and parked it outback. It's dark now so I'll tinker tomorrow morning before work.

Re: my new ride
the TBI base gasket is known for leaking and causing a high idle. Spray some carb cleaner around the base of the throttle body and if it idles down then its leaking.Another source of vacuum leaks is the brake booster if it has vac operated brakes.

Re: my new ride
Yes, it does look short. Maybe it was bobbed for wrecker use? Either way, it is a sweet rig for sure. It's got all the right parts on it.
