Need piuctures of door top area

I am working on a short top that only covers the front seats. I got the top bolted down on the windshield frame just fine. I cannot tell if the top is in the right place where it meets the body behind the doors. Does any one have pics of that area behind the doors?

Are you using a cut off top? A friend is sending me a top that's cut off just behind the doors later this week. I'll take some pictures today. I'll also take pics of the area behind the doors on the '71 parts truck I've got. I'd love to have a light rigid removable top that looks like a pick-up top. Post pictures of what you've got.

Re: Need piuctures of door top area

Yeah, I cut down a single wall top just behind the front inset for the side window. Where I can't tell if the top is in the right place is where the top attaches to the front of the bed. Will have to drill some new holes to bolt it down b/c the first hole of the top is to far to the rear once I make my final cut. Not much to see right now, but I'll take some pics to show you.

Here are the pics. Gonna cut along the black line for my final trim. The alignment along the front of the bed doesn't look right to me.

What are you gonna do to close up the back? Here's a couple of pictures of the back of 2 cabs, '67 & '71. I'm wondering if a fiberglass guy could use the back of my '71 cab for a mold. Then graft a newly cast back window section onto my cut off front section.

Re: Need piuctures of door top area

If you trim on the black line, how are you going to bolt it down? I think the alignment will look different with weatherstripping. The weatherstripping between the top and the bed will take up some of the gap you are seeing. If the bolt hole is aligning properly, I don't see how it can be in the wrong position.

I can't take any pictures because my top is hanging from the garage roof right now.

Re: Need piuctures of door top area

I going to keep it open & use my blazer more like a jeep. Figure out how to put a bikini style top over the back seat. The mounting holes for the top are twice the size they should be, so there is a lot of play. I will drill some new holes for the final mount but I got to get some new doors & hang them, so I can decide on the final placement.

Post #30 i think the 4th picture has a pretty straight shot of the pass. side

Hope it helps

I am thinking of cutting one of my many tops for this as well. I would think it might be wise to use an inside bracket to connect the top to the B pillar similar to the bracket on the back of the top by the tailgate

Sorry, I misunderstood what you wanted pictures of. Old age I guess.
