4x4 front axle swap

I have a 63 4x4 burb. I want to convert to disc brakes as my 1st consideration. 2nd is to lift the burb 2-4". It has been recommended here to use a 73-87 axle for the suspension and brakes. Evidently there are a number of lift kits available for the 73-87 MY.

So my ? is will a 73-87 4x4 front axle and suspension swap be about the same as a non 4x4?

What do I need to be aware of in differences on the differentials or anything else?
