Shock question about drop (truck parts not on a truck)

Ok guys. As some of you knOw I cobbled a trailing arm set up underneath my 67 chevy II.

I'm using Buick Roadmaster coil springs, and righ now have stock truck shock mocked up. I'm wondering if I should just shoot for Buick shocks, stock truck shocks, or get a set of like 3 in drop shocks...

This is all kinda new to me, so, oh suspension guru's....what would you do?

I would mock up everything at ride height and measure the shock length. From there, you can look up the type/brand of shock you want to run by travel length (compressed and extended length), choosing the appropriate shock part number by the mid-travel length.

To add to that, I would look for something from a similar weighted vehicle, to get the proper valving. You wouldn't necessarily want a shock made for a Honda Civic, or a 1 ton dually under your Nova...
