Trans lines
What did you guys do for the trans lines? I have the originals in there now stopping fluid from leaking and though I would use them, but it is going to be a pain to try and run them down my frame to the radiator with the drop memeber in there. They also look like they will be really close to the exhaust when ran.

I bought new ones but mine had a standard tranny before, anyway it will be hard to do it with engine in the bay, I bent mine to fit the engine before it was installed.

I hit the LAPS and got some coated line and put the bender to work. Cost $10 and a little bit of time. I don't think you'll find an off-the-shelf line to work with the DM...

I have a 4L80e but the factory runs the hard lines next to the block and has a flex section before it connects to the radiator. I bought new lines from gmpartsdirect.com along with a bracket that bolts to the block and a few clips to keep them from moving around. I just ordered some 3/8 compression to -6AN fittings and will cut the hard line at the front of the motor and run the rest with AN to a trans cooler.
As far as heat goes, if GM ran it next to the block and under the exhaust manifold it shoould be good to go. |

Thanks guys! You've been a lot of help. I started working with the stock lines to save $, but kinked one up even with the tube bender, so I called a mobil hydraulic guy and he came out and made braided lines with all the fittings. Wasn't cheap, but didn't have to wait for shipping. I'll post some pics tonight.

I am running an after market billet trans cooler, mounted to the frame under the passenger door, with steel braided hose and AN fittings. Had the radiator shop plug the holes in the radiator.

What about just running the metal lines down the frame like the turbo 350 to the radiator trans cooler?

Those are jic fittings same as an fittings most hydrolic shops carry them. I use them on my p/s
