Brought the 327 home after 20 years
I built this 327 for a 64 truck I was building 20 years ago. I installed the engine in the truck and started it but never drove it an inch. I had to sell the truck, where the new owner put it in a barn and let it sit for the last 15 plus years. I bought it all back a year ago and today brought the engine home for the first time ever. I am starting to put the 64 back together slowly in between working on my 65

Hopefully it was sealed up all those years and isn't full of critters. Glad you got it back.

Re: Brought the 327 home after 20 years
Thats great...I bought a rebuild long block 283 (67 block) from a friend almost nine years ago for my project and went over it with new seals, paint, and some engine goodies...primed the oil pump very well and fired her up a month ago for the 1st time and she sounded beautiful...was a little worried because I had it in a steel shed covered up for that long...but not for 20 years..wow..

Re: Brought the 327 home after 20 years
I had ran the engine several times and the last time I flooded it out with transmission fluid ( an old trick some oldtimers taught me ). I would go by and turn it over with a breaker bar every few years.
The guy had offered to sell it back to me several times, so I went by and checked on the truck every few years. I put a starter on it and spun it over last night, I plan on starting it this weekend. Still looks great inside and out
