68 c10 build
Hi all, I am new to this site i joined to possibly get help/advice. I am building a 68 step-side, I dropped a new zz4 crate engine and put a turbo 350 behind it. I now am shifting directions and bought a t56 trans that came off a 97 camaro. All that came with the trans was bellhousing, clutch fork and trans. I know i need a clutch, flywheel,master/slave cylinder and pedals. my question is what crossmember will work with the t56 and what driveshaft is needed... Any and all help is greatly appreciated thanx.

Re: 68 c10 build
to the BEST forum !
Sounds like a great project, please post a pic of it! There a few current builds on here that are using the T56 trans and I'm sure you will find the info you need. I will see if I can find one of them and link it for you.

Re: 68 c10 build
JohnT71: my front end doesn't have side markers being that its a 68 I think 69-72 is when they came with them. I think my truck at some point had the fenders replaced with the newer model ones because the fenders in the back have the side markers and I am planning on capping them

Re: 68 c10 build
Wahooo pictures! Looks great Frado, What kind of wheels are those ? what size wheel and tire? they look nice on there. The sidemarkers actually started in '68 so those must be '67 front fenders or they are '68s that have been shaved already. Very nice project!

Re: 68 c10 build
ok. im sure thats what year my front clip is. when i baught the truck it had the 70s front end and i wanted the 68 look so i traded a guy that also had a 68 but his girlfriend didnt like that look so she made him trade. haha... no comment, because i came out the winner on the deal. Tinkermc: so did the rear fenders on the 67 also not have the side markers? if so im going to start looking for some.
