Itsa7t2
Long story short, Iv'e owned plenty of GM muscle cars and sold my last one (matching numbers 67 RS Camaro) eight years ago to buy a house. Since then my wife and kids have heard nothing but me talking about getting another hotrod.
It got to the point I stopped talking about different cars I would see on the side of the road or where ever. Casually I mentioned to my buddy about a truck I had seen. Father's day my wife asked me if I wanted that truck. Hell yeah. $700.00 including tow I now have a 72 short stepside. Never done a truck and this scene is all new to me. Suggestions welcome. 307, 3 on the tree, only thing not original is rims and battery. Solid nose and bed, needs cab corners and rockers. Have protecto plate, owners manual, warranty and bunch of paper work including a small Rand Mcnally 1972 interstate map book mailed to the original owner. I'll post pics as soon as I can. |

Re: Itsa7t2
Welcome to you from eastern Arkansas. I hang out here and lately in the 60-66 section and always in the paint and body section and I answer all the questions that I can. I own a body shop and rebuild late model wrecks and restore old trucks and GM muscle. I have been a car guy way back and a GM man my whole life[birthdate is 7-28-67] and have owned the shop since 1987[ dang that was a long time ago!!!] Congrats on the truck I hope it sooths the pain of not having a project or hotrod to play with

Re: Itsa7t2
Welcome to the board from east TN. Go ahead and put THIS SITE in your Favorites tab. It's the only place I recommend to buy suspension and braking parts. Many here will agree. They also have resto parts if needed.
My wife and I are actually wanting to head up to Mansfiled sometime to see the Mansfield Reformatory. For some reason, she's fascinated with prisons and prison movies. We were watching Shawshank redemption one day, and she asked where that actually was, so I looked it up. We were planning on going this summer, but it may have to wait till next summer.

Welcome also from Central Florida! My dad raced stock cars in Mansfield in the 50's and was track champion at one point.
